Recommended Campaign Timeline
ASK – Ask everyone, ask more than once, and ask from the heart.
Week One and Two
- Tell everyone you are participating
- Develop a fundraising plan – consider making a video of why you’re participating and give history on the Give a Note foundation
- Form a campaign team to assist in reaching your goal
- Start creating a list of potential donors, venues for events to develop your contact list
**When thinking of potential donors consider your accountant, bank, clients/customers, clubs and organizations, college alumni, college friends, day care, dog walker, dry cleaner, family, fraternity/sorority, friends, friends of friends, health clubs, neighbors, office staff, office staff of family members, place of worship, realtor, restaurants you patronize, other**
- Personalize your fundraising letter (template provided on Network for Good site) – be honest and compelling. Communicate what you are doing, why you are doing it. Include the deadline and location for when and where the funds are to be received
- Personalize your fundraising webpage – the page provides a secure format for donations and an instant receipt
Week Three and Four
- Mail/email your fundraising letters
- Keep copies of the letter and contact cards with you at all times
- Post on social media – template is provided
- Secure venue(s) for a fundraising event – Presentation template provided
Weeks Five and Six
- Call people to make sure they received your letter/email
- Continue posting on social media
- Host a fundraising event
Weeks Seven, Eight, Nine
- Continue making follow up phone calls
- Send potential donors an update on your campaign
- Continue posting on social media
Weeks Ten, Eleven, Twelve
- Send email reminders and campaign updates to all donors and potential donors. Be sure to say thank you and remind them of the reason their support is so important. Also, include your goal and the campaign end date
- Continue posting on social media; create a sense of urgency
Week Thirteen
- Last big push for donations
- Send the final email reminder and highlight the donation deadline
- Big social media push
Conclusion of Campaign
- Send a thank you to everyone who donated to your campaign
- Post thank you on social media
