Give A Note Welcomes Writers Room U as a Corporate Ambassador

We are thrilled to welcome our newest Corporate Ambassador, Writers Room U, as proud supporters of music education. Writer’s Room U is an all access pass to the Nashville songwriting scene that connects professional songwriters with K-12 schools and programs across the country to teach students about the music industry, music production, and songwriting craft.

Writers Room U began in the Fall of 2020 when Roxy King recognized the struggles schools were facing to provide an engaging and effective music education during COVID. Roxy, a music publisher, then turned to her longtime friend and music industry colleague, Alex Goodman, an artist manager, to help get it off the ground.

“Prior to COVID, professional songwriters couldn’t just hop into classrooms around the country to teach songwriting. Travel, time and expense were all too complicated. Now that schools have the infrastructure to support virtual learning, however, those barriers no longer exist. Hit songwriters can now be in the classroom and open up the students’ minds to the world of songwriting, and the music industry at large.”

Co-Founders Roxy and Alex are both deeply embedded in the Nashville songwriting community. They work to pair songwriters with classrooms via ZOOM to guide students through the songwriting process.

Writers Room U evolved to provide songwriting, production, and music industry sessions. Programs typically run four to eight weeks, and the curriculum can be catered for any age group, meeting the different needs of students and school requirements.

All songwriters are signed by a major label, publisher, and/or manager, have had commercial success, and are trained by Writers Room U before their session with students. This ensures a highly beneficial session for everyone involved!

For those interested in signing up for summer, extracurricular programs, or for the Fall 2021 season, sign up soon! Spaces are limited and filling up quickly.

Get in touch with the Writers Room U team at “writersroomu AT gmail DOT com” to schedule a call so they can learn about your school, goals, and budget to build a program that fits your specific needs.
